Accessibility at Coed Ffest

Note: developing accessibility info for Coed Ffest is a work in progress which will develop over years, here are some initial ideas.

there is currently only 1 wheelchair accessible toilet on site in the main barn.

Map

There is a cattle grid at entrance and a path around the side of it.

Generally on site there are:

  • Uneven vehicle track
  • Uneven grass path
  • Uneven narrow earth or woodchip path

This is because it is a working farm essentially.

At the gate:

1- we will indicate to those who require it Blue Badge parking areas – allocated depending on particular requirements.

2 – There is accessible camping area which will be indicated to you at the gate

There are a few benches to sit on around the site, but generaly this is limited.

Arrows on the map indicate direction of slopes

There are steps to access the red yurt and the toilets behind sauna.

There is accessibility hand rails (for guidance) e.g.

  • from accessible camping area to the toilets (with a break for the road)
  • From the uneven vehicle track to the sauna

The structure of the hand rails can take different forms e.g.

  • Basic wooden fencing similar to that used by the lake
  • Rope strung between poles
  • Bales of hay
  • Solar lights

Inclusivity statement:

At CoedFest we understand support has a different meaning for everyone, and we want to share our passion in being aware and inclusive in our community.

In doing so, you have the opportunity to be part of a movement that recognises and is welcoming of differences.

We acknowledge the diversity in  communication and expression and how at times it can be challenging, we want to reinforce, we believe that wellbeing and mental health are very important.

Not all disabilities are visible therefore we encourage all of you to be mindful whilst respecting each other’s autonomy and space.

The team at Coed Ffest are dedicated to providing support, you are so welcome to approach us.

P.S…. We would love to hear your feedback to help improve our services! To ediculture@gmail.com

Together, lets build the foundations of inclusivity and compassion.

The hidden disability sunflower is globally recognised and represents non-visible disabilities.

Items we are working on:

  1. Sharing of information for all volunteers / workers / stewards at Coed Ffest on accessibility i.e. some basic training.
  2. Including being aware of how to support people in difficult circumstances e.g. location and details of, for example :
  • First aider
  • Mental health first aider.
  • Safeguarding lead
  • Wellbeing team
  • Whatsapp groups to ease communication as applicable whilst respecting privacy
